[He gets two bottles of water before he clambers on up. He doesn't, truthfully, know all that much about River, but he can spot another person with a secret easily. So he gives her as much reason to trust him as possible-- no open drinks, nothing even remotely dodgy.
He gives her a little smile and sits in the chair next to her. She's got bare feet again, he notices, and wonders if he ought to just start leaving shoes around. Just sort of . . . pointedly.
It's a nice night out-- cool, with a soft breeze coming in from the west. Remus sighs softly, happily, as it ruffles his hair.]
[ she can't curl her toes around the edge of her chair with shoes on, and river likes to be able to feel everything. only fair, when everything digs into her without asking first.
but she's good and doesn't reach for remus like she might want to, because he holds himself like he doesn't fit inside. not polite to tap on the glass; she watches the wind in his hair instead and smiles. ]
Decent is a good word for it. No headaches, and she saw birds in the sky and dreamt of flying.
[ it's why she's on the roof, waiting for dawn to break on a new day. maybe if she doesn't sleep, she won't lose this one. ]
[He smiles over at her-- something a little more real than his usual bland ones.]
A great massive thing. Horribly dusty, and full of old books. I can't wait to dive in. The only reason I'm not there now is because they kicked me out.
They would be free from the dusty shelves of an underappreciated social service. We would give them loving homes and read them bedtime stories and take them for walks every day.
