The One Where Remus Got Drunk
[It's been a good night. Home alone, some classical music on the radio, a large and dusty book, and a bottle of red wine to sip at while he reads. Sirius is out doing something-- Auror training, Remus thinks vaguely, but he's not entirely certain-- but the point is, Remus has some time to himself.
He didn't mean to get drunk, not really. It was just hard to resist a second glass of wine after he'd had his first, and then a third after his second-- and the wine tasted so delicious, and he'd been so thirsty-- and then he's peering at the bottom of the bottle with a chuckle, because what even happened to it all!
Ah, but that's a question for another time-- because there's someone at the front door, and Remus knows precisely who it is. And he's so happy his boyfriend is home, happy enough that he stumbles to his feet to go and let him in.]

What else would it be? And yeah, I did--sort of stung you don't remember, considering it was really good-- you were really good--
no subject
[He does remember, sort of, in little flashes and bursts of pictures-- but then his head begins pounding again, and Remus groans softly.]
I remember I acted really stupidly.
no subject
[It's a gentle little correction; he strokes at Remus' hair. And he does smile, after a beat.]</small. Well, a little. But it was a hot sort of stupid. I liked it. Very free of inhibitions, and all.
no subject
[He groans again, though this one isn't because of the pain in his head.]
Why didn't you just lock me in a room and ignore me? Bloody hell.
no subject
[He leans in to kiss the top of Remus' head, just as gentle, even though he's grinning.]
no subject
[He rubs at his face with one hand, still pressed against Sirius.]
'S hard when you're drunk. It's very-- hard-- to control your urges like that. That's all. And I do like it when you're forceful, I'm sorry I kept saying it but it's true--
no subject
I know. Oh, it's all right, I'm not actually laughing at you or, or judging you, or something-- you're a git-- [He kisses him again, with another little laugh.] Though it's good to know how much you like force. Reminds me to give it to you more often.
no subject
[And it says something about Sirius, about how much he loves Sirius, that even that teasing little comment makes his insides squirm a little.]
I'm never getting drunk again, I hope you know. Was it even good with me so intoxicated?
no subject
Was it good. Was it good, he asks-- God, it was brilliant, I could've gone again except you fell asleep-- you'd better get drunk again, I don't want that to be my last time!
no subject
[He peers groggily up at Sirius, eyes narrowed.]
'M just as good sober.
no subject
[That's something like a sorry; he kisses Remus' forehead instead, smiling gently at him.]
You are, definitely. It was just-- different, like this. You were incredibly direct, for starters, that was interesting.
no subject
I could . . . try and be more like that. If it was so interesting.
no subject
[He raises his eyebrows a little, considering Remus' face.]
I don't mean your way is bad. You do realise that, right? That's not what I'm saying.
no subject
no subject
[He strokes at his cheek, gently, smiling at him.]
It's just different. That's all. Not necessarily better, either, just... different.
no subject
[He wrinkles his nose.]
I'd hate to think the time I was the best was when I was drunk. Honestly.
[He closes his eyes again, settling down against Sirius.]
That being said: what I do remember of it was bloody amazing.
no subject
[He kisses the top of Remus' head again, with a grin.]
But I'm glad we're in agreement on that at least. Bloody amazing.
no subject
Are you going to fetch me some water?
no subject
[Another kiss; he makes a pleased little mmm along with it, and then pulls away all at once, grinning.]
Just water, or tea as well?
no subject
[He kisses him gently again, as extra incentive.]
Please?
no subject
[It's half a sigh, half a noise of musing--he leans into that kiss for a moment, making it deeper, and then draws away all at once.]
Yes, all right, done. Tea and water, coming up, be right back--
no subject
[He calls that out to Sirius even as he squirms to get under the covers (and away from that sunlight).]
no subject
[He shouts it back, banging around in the kitchen. Kettle on for tea, water in a glass--and toast as well, why not, toast always makes him feel more human after a night of heavy drinking. It takes a bit, but he's back rather quickly, with a tray as promised.]
You can't eat under the blankets, you git, sit up.
no subject
[He mutters that as he slowly sits up. The process is rather more work than it normally is, and he squints uncertainly at Sirius as he does.]
Thank you. Did you really not clean us off afterwards last night?
no subject
[He was just kneeling on the bed with that tray, in as good of domestic glory as Sirius Black ever gets, when Remus asks that question. And then there's a pause, and...]
Well, I fell asleep. Look, tea and toast and water!
