[He looks around at him, briefly caught off-guard by that.]

But there's no guarantee of it. They didn't this time; what's to make them do it next time?

[He gives him a flat look.]

It's stupid and dismal. Especially in the case of something like this, which is likely to be fixed and reversed and all.

[He's quiet, just for a beat.]

[He nods, quietly, and doesn't say anything at all.]

[There's a beat, and then he reaches over to grip at Remus' shoulder, bracingly.]

[He glances over at him, smiling gratefully.]

Come on. Let's-- I don't know-- go for a walk or something. I can't stand another minute in this room right now.

Yeah, all right--

[He hits the button to open the door and shoves his hands in his pockets, with a tentative little grin.]
