[He relaxes a bit, though his mouth remains tight.]

Why did he need to go into his room so badly? I mean, certainly it's an inconvenience, but-- well, it's not as if this will last forever.

[His eyebrows raise.]

[ remus don't even say it derek is trying so hard to ignore it. ]

And you all heal instantly, yes? So he's all right.

Injuries dealt by an alpha heal slower.

[ which is bad news for isaac but it could be worse. derek knows that for certain, things can always be worse. ]

But yes. It'll heal.

[There's just a hint of jealousy in his voice.]

[ but remus scars, doesn't he. derek's eyes flick to remus' face and away, supressing a sigh. ]

[He reaches up, slipping his fingers against a scar on his cheek with a smile.]

They're impossible to hide. No make-up will cover them, no spell can hide a cursed mark.

[ cursed. not a gift, a curse, and it sits wrong with derek, but he can't argue it, not like this. ]

It shouldn't be like that.

[ it's the closest derek gets to i'm sorry. ]

[He shrugs, suddenly shy, and glances away.]

In any case: I'm glad he's all right now.
