Let's see. I was about thirty seconds away from snogging a local girl in a cupboard just last week when her massive local boyfriend walked in and started glaring at me. But right up until that moment, we were having a really good time, her and I.

Do you ever, you know, learn to check if they've boyfriends?

When would I do that, exactly? The way things go, they just go. Not going to interrupt mid-flow to say, 'oh by the way, and I know this is sort of spoiling the moment, but do you have a boyfriend'.

Well, yes. You oughtn't want to snog them if they've boyfriends, mate.

Oh, you still want to, believe me. Sometimes more. And sometimes you still do, regardless.

It's snogging, Moony, it's not stealing them away from their fiancees and marrying them myself. Don't make me out to be some sort of criminal.

Oh, well, I should hope so. I don't know what I'd do with myself if you weren't looking on disapprovingly. I'd feel extremely wrong-footed, like I wasn't doing things properly.

Just one. She didn't exactly eat it, she just sort of gnawed for a while and then spat it out.

[He rolls his eyes at Remus, as if he's being totally ridiculous.]

Honestly. I think she's sweet. A welcome addition to the household.
