There's a war on, yes, but that doesn't mean every moment of your life ought to be devoted to it. There are more than enough people to handle it-- and if you were born after an apocalypse, isn't that all the more reason to try and have fun in a place where it's relatively safe for you to do so?

One goon, with a gun. He fired a shot, wasn't expecting Joel, and we sent him running.

He was probably thinking I'd be alone, or that the big bearded guy with the backpack filled with guns would be all talk.
